The counselling and coaching are rooted in positive psychology, with a blend of cognitive-behavioral, compassion-focused, and solution-focused approaches. This collaborative approach is grounded in understanding your individual context, honoring your agency and resiliency.
The common thread is in understanding the factors that may be temporarily hindering an individual’s personal, emotional, relational, academic, or career progress. Together, we will identify and build on your strengths that will move you through setbacks related to these areas.
Research
Research interests are in understanding the factors that are impacting the mental health of adolescents and young people today and the best environments in which trauma-informed care can be provided. These include the social context, such as peer relationships, school, community and home environments, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and the impact of social media on self-worth, self-esteem, and healthy identity formation. Further, we seek to understand how these concerns uniquely impact adolescents with Autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders, chronic or terminal illness, and those from marginalized groups.
